Medical Form

We have now created a medical form that all of our team members etc will have to fill out. This ensures we have all of the information we need if a member of the team has an emergency and we also know we can keep them safe.

Actor Contract

Hello!

As we are coming close to filming our music video we have put together an Actor Contract that any person featuring as an actor in the music video 'Anything Can Happen' will have to sign.
This ensures that anyone acting will know the rules and will agree to the rules before the project starts. Therefore we have a signed set of rules so we know each actor has to follow them.

Test Shots

Hello!

We have taken some test shots for our digipak and poster. We want to keep the theme between the video and artist pictures through the colour scheme and location. For our test shots we used a different location as we were unable to go to the location of our video at the time we took the test shots. 

First we took some shots on the floor. For these pictures we focused on the artist's femininity - eyes, lips and hair, as this is what Ellie Goulding's photos bring out.

In editing the first thing we did was put a slight purple tint over the photos as this is our colour scheme and one of the things that will connect the pictures with the video. We then played with contrasts and saturation which we believe makes the eyes, eyebrows and hair more prominent. 
We are pleased with these test shots and will be using this style for our real photos. 


Next we took some shots standing and in these we decided to really focus on the hair. Ellie Goulding uses her long hair in photos and is seen in many flicking it upwards or sidewards. To do this we used a slow motion camera and took a video of our artist flicking her hair. From this we took 3 snapshots.

As you can see here we have applied the purple tint over the photos and are again, pleased with the outcome. Our favourite is the far right where the artist's face is slightly hidden. This fits in well with our music video as the performance is about the artist being a girl who is shy and too afraid to open out in reality and follow her dreams.

Digipak Audience Research

Hello!

After doing some more research on Digipaks we chose some common features seen on Digipaks by both pop artists and other genres and asked our target audience what they wanted to see. 

Here are the results we got:

We put Record Company, Contributors  Barcode and Disc Area as must haves as they are either essential to include or a legal requirement.

Our Colour Scheme

Hello!

We asked 20 people in our target audience which colour combination they preferred:

30% of our audience said they prefer idea 1

10% of our audience said they prefer idea 2

15% of our audience said they prefer idea 3

45% of our audience said they prefer idea 4

This is idea 4 which is the colour scheme we will be using because of our target audience research.

Our main ideas are to play with the colours in the editing stage. We will be using a yellow glitter effect on the image taken, as this is a magical and flawless look, which fits in with our music videos. Ellie Goulding often uses this effect as well, which will follow the codes and conventions. We are thinking about using purple to put a slight purple filter over the image taken, as this is a warm colour, which females prefer and it is also an imaginative colour, which fits in with the imaginative theme of our music video. Thus far we are unsure of how to use the blue. We will either fit in in to the photo by using naturally blue things such as lakes, sky etc. as these natural elements fit in to the music videos. Another idea is to use the blue in the righting because we had the idea of using this for the isolation effect.

Colour Research

Today we focused on colour and what connotations they have. This is so that we can start thinking about and deciding our colour theme for our ancillary tasks.
